The first meeting of the Members' Council of the new body Kopifag, was held 30 April 1980. The new organisation, soon (from 1983) to be known as Kopinor, was established.
2005 marks Kopinor's 25th anniversary. In the course of these years, all sectors of society have been offered copying agreements, in order to take care of the rightsholders interest without losing sight of the users' needs.
